Once the receiver looks at the card, he’ll see an activation code, which, after creating a FlipMe.com account, directs him to your profile. If he’s interested, he’ll send you a message. If you don’t hear anything back, it’s safe to say the tracking numbers on the back of the card threw him off.
 
It all seems like a seamless method, according to the website. But we’re wondering if going up to a guy and slipping him a card, then dashing back into the crowd as he yells after you, “What the hell is this?” is really a good way to make the first move. Why not just give the guy your number or your business card? What’s the point in having a virtual middle man when the guy could simply choose to call you upon receiving your digits? Additionally, the fact that an interested guy has to jump through hoops by creating his own FlipMe account just to communicate with you seems like a factor that would deter many men.

I have to disagree with the final advice given here – I don’t think the guy needs to be sat down and educated just because he didn’t react in the way the OP wanted.

I think a lot of us get into the habit of expecting a boyfriend (or girlfriend) to fulfill every emotional need that we have, even though that just isn’t realistic. If the OP needs someone to be supportive of her during an “off” day, she needs to turn to friends and family, not a man she’s only dated for six weeks. Six weeks is too early to make emotional demands of anyone, health issues or not. She asked him to stop by, and he did… that’s enough for now. If the OP needs more, she should call her mom, sister or best friend.
