wow. I don’t think a trip to Polyworld sounds very appealing.
my ideal is one on one, mutual understanding, love, trust, cherishing the privilege of being loved by the other, and finding an oasis in one other person’s eyes. being an ancient couple holding hands! an oasis from the drama of work, illness, life, stress. forever. i’m old fashioned.

It turns out that those things and poly aren’t mutually exclusive. You can just develop that kind of relationship with a person, and then develop that kind of relationship (or another kind of relationship) with someone else. At the same time. Will wonders never cease?

I’m sure you can find some wonderful things in poly. but I don’t think it’s realistic to call it the same kind of relationship. there’s an intimacy of two people lost in each other’s eyes…if there’s another pair of eyes or two waiting in the wings, however patient…I think it is not the same. perhaps even emotionally shallow. not in a rude way, I just think some people are built in a way that is not as deep, so they have to have lots of drama/overstimulation…hence poly. I could be wrong, but from the folks I’ve met who are poly, they displayed a strong love of drama. too much for me! good luck to anybody who can stomach it, i’m impressed!
